Broadwater
on Baddeck Bay

The Broadwater was constructed c.1812. Having stood the test of time, Broadwater has been home to families of local and international notoritiety including Samual Cunard of Cunard Steamship Company, the McCurdy family, partners, acquaintances and extended family of Alexander Graham Bell. Mr. George Kennan a world famous writer and adventurer, who was renown for Russian study, former Manager of the Associated Press, The American Red Cross and the first secretary and a founder of the National Geographic Society.
